As a Junior Editorial Web Designer for saks.com, I created a variety of material for the desktop site, including the weekly Main Home Page designs, promotional emails, holiday video live-streaming, Mobile and App versions, as well as Social Media content for Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Vine, #SaksStyle and the SaksPOV Blog.
After teaching myself the technology behind website design for my personal portfolio, I had the opportunity to create www.BelleSoiree.com. Through this process I was able to learn more about a client-to-designer relationship, web design along with tablet and phone capabilities. This site was created using Adobe Muse. It is available for view on smart phones. Using squarespace as a platform, I have created this site, along with www.hangoutagy.com. Also view www.sweatandsoulstudio.com for more recent website work.
To truly understand typography, I felt it would be beneficial to study the art of Typeface Design and the details that go into the letters. Through a Directed Study with Typography and Professor Ron Arnholm, I created a version of my own. My inspiration included a mix of serif and sans-serif letterforms, subtle weight changes and contrast.
Working for 1000 Faces Coffee, a specialty coffee roasting company, gave me the opportunity to work as an in-house designer to collaborate on an initiative for re-branding packaging, as well as create new packaging for Cold Brew products, Micro-Lot specialty roasts, and advertise for Brew Down Competition events, cupping lessons, and Farmer's Market events.
These posters have event and promotional advertisements for a variety of clients, including Avid Bookshop, 1000 Faces Coffee, a Hot Yoga studio, a W Magazine, and Hands Across the Sand.
While working on developing my illustration skills, I noticed that I enjoyed creating art from the words more than creating the pictures. As I continue to expand my skills I hope to learn as much as possible about the art of handlettering, and also calligraphy in graphic design.
As a designer, I am committed to sparking a positive interest and comeback for the art of handlettering - believing that as we move into the future, it can evolve into the digital age and the art will continue to grow.
I enjoy creating letters, and incorporating them into today's digital design world. This is my example of incorporating handlettering into magazine layouts.
Also included, are layouts that explore the different types of beer from different areas of the world.
I am constantly exploring ways to incorporate line work and color for patterning effects to create depth within my designs.
The Girls Education Initiative of Ghana, GEIG, is providing young girls with the academic support, tutoring, and college prep programs needed to reach college and professional opportunities.
To help GEIG grow as an organization, I created a logo to encompass the traditional colors of Ghana, the Adinkra symbol meaning "In Unity There is Strength," and the building blocks of a strong education. As the the initiative continues to impact the young girls of Ghana, we created informative and marketing materials to spread the word of this great cause.

Below, I created different logo and branding options for an online yoga studio: coffeecupyoga.com. By experimenting with the different ways the logo could be utilized, we created a final circular design with the silhouette coffee and yoga elements featured in the center.
